Our Curriculum Overview

A Commitment to Excellence

This handbook for Academic Services was developed to convey information about the services provided, rules policies and procedures.

Please read the service section in its entirety to gain a better understanding of what we offer.

Schedule of services

During the School Year (August 10th through June 10th) A. Online 1. Sunday – 5:00pm to 8:30 pm 2. Tuesday & Thursday – 3:30pm to 8:30pm B. In Person 1. Monday and Wednesday – 5:00pm to 8:30pm 2. Or By Appointment II. During the Summer(June 11th through August 9th) A. Online 1. Monday through Thursday – 4:00pm to 6:00pm 2. Or By Appointment B. In Person 1. Monday through Thursday- 9:00 am to 1:00pm. 2. Or By Appointment NOTE: NO SERVICES PROVIDED ON HOLIDAYS OR BAD WEATHER DAYS OR DURING AN EMERGENCY SITUATION

Positive Learning Center’s Schedule of Activities

    Schedule for Online and In-person Services (5:00pm to 8:30pm) (2 hours)
  • Students will complete Introductory Activity Independently – 15 Minutes
  • Service Provider will explain/teach the lesson objectives – 30 minutes
  • Students will work on completing the assignments independently – 15 minutes
  • Service provider will discuss assignments -30 minutes
  • Exit Ticket/Review – 15 minutes
  • Any concluding Activities 15 minutes.

    Schedule for Tuesday and Thursday (3:30 pm to 8:30pm)
  • Students will complete Introductory Activity Independently – 15 Minutes
  • Service Provider will explain/teach the lesson objectives – 30 minutes
  • Students will work on completing the assignments independently – 15 minutes
  • Service provider will discuss assignments -30 minutes
  • Exit Ticket/Review – 15 minutes
  • Any concluding Activities 15 minutes.

    Homework Services – ( 2 hours)
  • Students will work on homework independently for 15 minutes.
  • Service Provider will explain or teach the parts of the student is having difficulty –
  • 30 minutes
  • Students will work on completing the assignments independently – 15 minutes
  • Service provider can provide additional review or extension assignments -30 minutes
  • Exit Ticket/Review – 15 minutes
  • Any concluding Activities 15 minutes.

Learner Responsibilities/Code of Conduct Attendance And Registration

  • • All learners seeking academic assistance must have a completed registration and emergency form on file. learners receiving assistance must sign-in and out.
  • • All learners are expected to show up for their expected scheduled service time on time if more than 15 minutes you will be billed for the entire session, if a learner is a no call-no show the learner will be charged for at least one hour of the session.
  • • Life Events happen — please notify me in advance if possible or within 24 hours with documentation to avoid charges for lateness, or not showing Up.
  • • Service Provider will also provide an advanced notice, if I have to cancel a service time.
  • • After the third late or No show, the learner will no longer be allowed to schedule services with the provider.
  • • All learners are expected to show up ready to learn, knowing their homework assignment, knowing the work they need assistance with completing or ready to complete assignments during academic assistance. The learner should have his/her computer or other academic supplies.
  • • No Cell phone Use (if it does not pertain to the academic assignment, No playing of music, No cursing, No playing, no breaks will be given during the short session (unless specified in advance), No eating, No academic integrity issues will be allowed. Drinking of water is allowed as long as it is not every 15 minutes; or frequent enough to hinder the session.
  • • Learners receiving services are expected to be respectful at all times as well as their adult care giver. The person can relay concerns to the provider.
  • • Masks are not required, therefore if you show up coughing, with an excessively running nose, sneezing, or looking sick—I will not provide you services on that day.

End of Service Time

  • • All Learners receiving services are expected to leave the location. premises at the end of services.
  • • Learners receiving services must provide their own transportation.

Supplies/Textbook/Special Needs

  • *The service provider a handbook, and limited paper and pencils. Learner receiving services are responsible for having any textbooks, notebooks required by their school.
  • *Special Needs students must bring their accommodation information. I am not qualified to teacher deaf or blind persons or severe behavior handicapped students.

Fees and Debt/ Payment

  • * Payment is expected at the time services are rendered. I will supply an invoice for services rendered, which needs to be submitted to the paying person/ODE at the end of services.
  • *As stated in the signed agreement late fees will be assessed a late fee.
  • * Fee Schedule: Service will be charged either by the ½ hour or whole hour. Academic assistance Sessions have to be scheduled for two hours at a time. Homework sessions can be schedule for one hour.

Homework assistance in person or online = $20 per hour

Online services – Two Price Levels

1) $ 45 per hour

2) If you sign-up for 4 hours of academic assistance per week for 5 weeks —- > the price is $25 per hour

In-Person services – Two Price Levels

1) $55 per hour

2) If you sign-up for 4 hours of academic assistance per week for 4 weeks – the price is $35 per hour

CERTIFICATES

  1. I. Service Provider will provide certificates per four-hour academic assistance completed.
  2. II. Certificates of Attendance and Merit are given out.
